sugar on snow…….a photo expose…….

THIS is how you know that Spring has truly arrived in Vermont (believe me, sometimes its hard to see!)….maple sugar ‘farmers’ start tapping the trees for this amber gold…..pour in on snow and eat it as it congeals…..a side of pickles cuts the sweetness just enough to keep you from going into sugar shock!….they have an expression here ….”let’s see how it all sugars out”…..sort of a Vermont version of “lets wait and see”…sometimes the harvest is just ok….and sometimes it is amazing…..

  3. We used to eat snow and syrup when we were little but not the delicious maple syrup. I cannot believe how much they gob on the snow….
    Such incredible trees…my gosh! We bought some maple sugar cubes when we visited and aahhhhh, heavenly!
